Mr. Nichols, business member, is the Executive Director of the El Monte/South El Monte Chamber of Commerce, and a self-employed business consultant. Mr. Nichols served on the L.A. County Private Industry Council for 12 years before it transitioned into the L.A. County Workforce Investment Board in 2000. In May 2000, Mr. Nichols was appointed to the L.A. County Workforce Investment Board. Mr. Nichols is also a member of the Western Associationof Chamber Executives, the California Association of Local Economic Development, and the California Chamber of Commerce. His former business and professional experience include: Executive, Alhambra-Rosemead and Baldwin Park Chamber of Commerce for over 20 years; City Councilman for the City of San Gabriel; and owner of dry cleaning business for over 20 years. Mr. Nichols was first appointed as the WIB’s Chair in July 2003, and was re-appointed to a two-year term July 2004. In June 2006, Mr. Nichols was re-appointed to his second two-year term.
